Oceanomare Delphis is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to the conservation of cetaceans in the Gulf of Naples. Through bioacoustic monitoring and photographic identification, the organisation collects long-term data that supports marine mammal research and contributes to the conservation and expansion of marine protected areas in the Mediterranean.
To increase awareness of marine mammal conservation and demonstrate how travellers can contribute to the protection of the destinations they visit, we developed a branded content initiative centred around Salvatore, a documentary following researchers and travellers working together to support the protection of sperm whales around the island of Ischia. The project translated scientific research and conservation action into an engaging story that informed audiences about the region’s rich marine biodiversity, the role protected areas play in safeguarding cetacean populations, and the contribution travellers can make to protecting the ecosystems they visit.
